要旨

This article examines Abdurahmon Sa’diy’s contribution to the development of Navoi studies in Uzbek literary scholarship. It argues that Sa’diy’s work helped move the study of Alisher Navoi’s legacy from reverential description toward literary-historical interpretation, source-based reasoning, textual awareness, and national literary-historical evaluation. Particular attention is paid to Sa’diy’s 1949 doctoral research on Navoi, his theoretical textbook “Practical and Theoretical Lessons of Literature”, his engagement with comparative literary methodology, his interpretation of Navoi’s linguistic and poetic role, and his place in the formation of modern Uzbek philology. The article treats Sa’diy’s contribution as one significant stage within a broader scholarly process rather than as an isolated individual achievement.
