Resumen

Respiratory infections are among the most common causes of morbidity and mortality in children worldwide. The developing respiratory system of children, combined with an immature immune response and high exposure to infectious agents, makes them particularly vulnerable to diseases such as acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI), bronchitis, and pneumonia. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), respiratory tract infections account for nearly 20–30% of all pediatric consultations and represent one of the leading causes of hospitalization in children under five years of age.[2,3,7]
